Find and remove unusual activity on your Yahoo account

Monitoring your recent login activity can help you find out if your account has been accessed by unauthorized users. Be aware that there are some legitimate reasons why your history can show unfamiliar locations, such as your mobile device detecting the wrong location or Internet provider using a proxy server.

Check recent account activity

On a web browser

  1. Open a web browser on your desktop computer or mobile device.
  2. Sign in to the Yahoo homepage.
  3. Go to the Recent activity page.

On a Yahoo mobile app

  1. Tap the Menu icon Image of the side menu icon..
  2. If using the Yahoo Mail app, tap Manage Accounts.
  3. Tap Account info.
  4. Click Recent activity.

On the Flickr mobile app

  1. Tap the Profile icon Graphic of a person's silhouette in a circle (Android) or Graphic of a person's silhouette (iOS).
  2. Tap the Settings icon Graphic of three vertical dots (Android) or Graphic of a gear (iOS).
  3. Tap Manage Accounts.
  4. Tap Account info.
  5. Click Recent activity.

IP addresses in Recent Activity

Click or tap any recent activity to view its IP address, as well as the date and time it was collected. Your IP address is your location online and each session should start with the same few sets of numbers. If it's drastically different, remove it, change your password, and secure your account.

Remove suspicious activity

If you see something you don't recognize, click Sign out or Remove next to it and change your password.

  • Recent activity - Sign-in history for each device and browser connection to this account
  • Apps connected to your account - Apps you've given permission to access your info
  • Recent account access changes - Shows the last 3 password changes
